Places we trust and love
The great thing about our part of the world is there are still so many amazing independent shops and businesses. Here are a few useful shops to get you started; if you find others you love during your stay do let us know about them by using the feedback form below.
Bonners, Ilminster
It’s not our closest butcher but it’s our favourite, with a wide range of local meat and a deli.
Daisy’s Dairy, Yarcombe
We’re lucky to have a milk station in the village. At Daisy’s Dairy you can fill up our glass milk bottles with the freshest milk from local cows as well as buy cheese, eggs and ice creams from a vending machine. We come here almost every day, often in our pyjamas.
Barleymow’s
Our local farm shop sells fresh vegetables, meat, cheese, ready meals, bread and cakes. It also has a restaurant and, in the summer, a Maize Maze and playground for children. The fishmonger stops here once a week, too.
Teal’s
If you’re driving down the A303 put in a stop at Teal’s near Wincanton, an amazing farm shop and emporium, which serves the best coffee and sandwiches and inspires you to spend way too much money on delicious pasta, cheeses and snacks. We can’t resist it, ever.
